I Polled 11 People for Their Favorite Eye Shadow Brands—These Are the Results

When it comes to makeup products, I normally don’t give eye shadows that much thought. Sure, I use them, but I’m not too picky about which brands I use. My makeup priorities revolve around foundations, concealers, and mascaras. I can be pretty choosy when it comes to those types of products.

But of course, not all eye shadows are created equally. In addition to the shade choices, there are also other factors to think about, such as pigment, finish, and staying power. You want a formula that won’t crease or cake. And it also depends on the type of eye makeup look you’re going for. Some people might want something natural and subtle; others might want something highly saturated.

Whatever the case, I asked my colleagues and a few makeup artists to point me in the direction of their favorite eye shadow brands. I wanted to know what their tried-and-true … Read the rest

Toronto-based, hand-crafted jewellery label Oremme — which is already a member of the environmental initiative 1% for the Planet — wants your unwanted gold jewellery. Why? The brand just announced its Gold Recycling Program, which asks customers to send in gold jewellery that they no longer use for a store credit (based on karat weight); Oremme will then melt the gold down to use in new pieces.

Regé-Jean Page Is Not Returning for Season 2 of Bridgerton

This article was originally published in February 2021.

If you’re anything like us, you recently spent a solid eight hours living in Lady Whistledown’s world, enraptured by actor Regé-Jean Page’s spoon-licking and imagining what life would be like as a Bridgerton duchess.

Based on a series of young adult books by Julia Quinn, the first season of Bridgerton revolved around the life of dashing duchess-to-be, Daphne Bridgerton, and her hard-headed, eventual husband Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings. The world of 19th century England bustles around them, with the fanciest of clothing, the juiciest of gossip, the most dramatic of balls and, of course, the most fiery of romances. The first season dropped in December last year, and the word is we have more jaw-dropping Regency-era fashion, steamy sex scenes and casting diversity to look forward to in the upcoming second season.

Here's the Swimwear Trend Outshining All the Rest This Season

It’s safe to say that last year we pretty much all took a hiatus from poolside parties and packed trips to the beach. As an optimist, I’m hoping things will be a little different in the months ahead, and yup, my mind has already drifted into the world of bikinis. I’m not a huge swimsuit person, so of course I took to the Internet’s favorite mood board, Instagram, to glean which styles I should be betting my money on. It didn’t take long for one trend in particular to emerge as the clear winner: French cut bikinis are back, and in a big way. A dominant style of the 80s, this revealing bikini silhouette takes some sartorial courage to get used to. I’ve noticed different ways to pull off a French cut bikini: from barely-there string bottoms as seen on Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa, to more full coverage cuts.
